01 · The wind tunnel
At Silverstone, ATP Performance put our wheels in the wind tunnel against the benchmarks. At 0° yaw, the new 52/58 Superlight Aero on 30mm tyres needed just 276.2 watts to hold speed, against 284.9 watts for a Vision Metron SL60 setup. The wider 30mm tyre was even a watt faster than 28mm, because rim and tyre were shaped to work as one.
Same speed. Nearly 9 watts less.

02 · The data
Every run is logged: speed, yaw angle, drag and the power needed to hold pace. We read the whole sweep, not the best point. At 45 km/h our TT wheels were faster at every yaw angle tested, and the saving grew from 2.6 to 4.3 watts as the wind moved across the bike. That is where real races are ridden.
